{"id":3327,"date":"2023-07-05T14:19:34","date_gmt":"2023-07-05T12:19:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/socios.bioga.org\/?post_type=partner&#038;p=3327"},"modified":"2024-07-05T10:49:08","modified_gmt":"2024-07-05T08:49:08","slug":"centro-singular-de-investigacion-en-medicina-molecular-y-enfermedades-cronicas-cimus","status":"publish","type":"partner","link":"https:\/\/socios.bioga.org\/en\/partner\/centro-singular-de-investigacion-en-medicina-molecular-y-enfermedades-cronicas-cimus\/","title":{"rendered":"Centro Singular de Investigaci\u00f3n en Medicina Molecular y Enfermedades Cr\u00f3nicas (CiMUS)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The\u00a0Center for Research in Molecular Medicine and Chronic Disease (<strong>CiMUS<\/strong>)\u00a0was created on February 17<sup>th\u00a0<\/sup>2010 by the Governing Council of the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">CiMUS is a member of the\u00a0network of\u00a0singular research centres\u00a0with a new model of scientific organization, which constitutes one of the R&amp;D strategic pillars of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/campusvida.usc.es\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-extlink=\"\">CAMPUS VIDA<span class=\"ext\"><span class=\"element-invisible\">(link is external)<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0project (Campus of International Excellence, MEC-MICINN, 2009)<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mission:<\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The CiMUS mission consists of performing basic research with proven quality, focused on getting advances in the prevention, the understanding and the treatment of chronic disease on the basis of the following parameters:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Knowledge generation based on criteria of excellence and translational research that allows its transference to the healthcare and\/or industry level.<\/li>\n<li>Development of a\u00a0structure\u00a0that boosts the efficiency and competitiveness of the groups.<\/li>\n<li>Be a model of cultural change\u00a0that enhances the involvement of\u00a0health professionals in basic research and the generation of knowledge based on business demands.<\/li>\n<li>Increase the Biomedicine researchers pull with\u00a0special emphasis on the recruitment of young researchers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Vision:<\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The CiMUS vision is to be recognized at the international level in the field of research in Biomedicine. This could be possible by encouraging CiMUS researchers to work collaboratively in a\u00a0cooperative\u00a0environment, being thereafter translated into research:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>With a thematic focused on the patient.<\/li>\n<li>Cultural and organizational union of groups belonging to different disciplines.<\/li>\n<li>Efficient management, organization and information systems.<\/li>\n<li>Active in contributing to the economic and social development of Galicia.<\/li>\n<li>Educational vocation.<\/li>\n<li>Outreach: in permanent contact with the society and approachable to the public<\/li>\n<li>Cutting-edge technology.<\/li>\n<li>Research excellence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\">CiMUS Values:<\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Leadership<\/strong>: Be a European benchmark by carrying out high-impact research and renowned expertise in its areas of influence.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Excellence and Innovation<\/strong>: Promote research excellence according to international standards and create a positive environment for the\u00a0generation of new ideas, approaches and solutions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Cooperation and Multidisciplinarity<\/strong>: Maximize cooperation between different research groups will be one of the CiMUS hallmarks. This should be focused not only on the different CiMUS\u00a0groups but also should be\u00a0extended to nearby groups\/centers\u00a0 (CiQUS, CiTIUS\u2026. ).
