Batea Oncology is a biotechnology company founded in 2024 that researches and develops new technologies for the treatment of cancer. It emerged from research carried out at the University Hospital and the Health Research Institute of Santiago, with a clear translational approach to respond to unmet clinical needs. The team combines a clinical approach, which ensures patient access, with a very broad scientific and research base and proven experience in the creation and management of start-ups. As our first asset, we have developed a medical device for the treatment of glioblastoma, the most common brain tumour, for which there are few therapeutic options and in which the 5-year survival rate is <5%. Our goal is to change the treatment and response paradigm for these patients, for which we hope to initiate a pilot clinical trial in 2026.
