The Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (CICA) was created with the aim of strengthening some of the most powerful research areas of the University of A Coruña, those related to chemical and biotechnological areas, as well as biomedical sciences. It also promotes research and provides an organizational structure to some groups that are constantly expanding and developing new needs. The main objective is to promote the advancement of R&D excellence. The Regional Government supports CICA by promoting a strategic grouping with the Institute for Biomedical Research of A Coruña (INIBIC), in order to develop strategies to strengthen cooperation in biomedical research.
