MycoGalicia Plantae S.L. is a technology-based company (EBT) born in the Mycology laboratory of the University of Vigo, within the Environmental Biology research group. As an EBT, it has the collaboration of highly trained profiles in the research environment. Based on the unique characteristics of fungi, MycoGalicia Plantae focuses on offering applications arising from research into these organisms for the development of new materials or products, allowing them to be used by different sectors of society, whether in forestry, agriculture, or industry. A part of the company’s activity is aimed at the mycological-forestry consultancy, managing the sustainable exploitation of mushrooms at a silvicultural and industrial level, as well as promoting alternative or complementary uses to wood in the forests, with the aim of favoring the revitalization of the countryside and a new vision of the Galician forests. And another part is focused on training and spreading knowledge of fungi and plants to value these environmental resources, making them known in a playful but rigorous way.
